This Ottawa based New Earth School offers conscious child care with an alternative learning experience that inspires and empowers the child to learn and grow far beyond the scope of mainstream education. We provide a sacred space for learning that meets the developmental needs of the whole child while nurturing a deep connection to the spiritual and natural world. A mixed aged group of children who are encouraged to learn from and help one another.
These programs are designed for families who are seeking an alternative learning experience for their children, who desire to add an supplement to formal learning or who are/plan on homeschooling.
By sprinkling wisdom, faith, love and joy, we are dedicated to guiding the powerful and magical children of this New Earth.

For a school of this size to operate, it is important that parents enroll their children on the understanding that they are making a commitment for the duration of that seasonal program (12 weeks).

A typical day for our programs flow uniquely depending on the students who attend that given day. Certain activities and learning experiences are planned ahead of time, but the course of the day is inspired by the children and their imagination, state of being etc.
The day begins and ends with a mindful practice and movement.
Throughout the day, the children have the opportunity for group and individual play. We spend most of our time outdoors in the Over the Rainbow Play Zone and Gardens with the option for indoor play and learning.
Our programs began on a smaller scale, in a home-based space and have expanded to a designated school area in our newly renovated, natural and sustainable venue.
Our expanding vision consists of an alternative preschool and elementary school designed for children from 18 months -14 years of age. This nature-based school has a holistic approach to education that aligns with Earthly cycles by honouring the changing seasons and the stages of the lunar cycle to foster children's success.
The structure of these education programs align with the changing seasons rather than the traditional structure of semesters. There is an abundance of energy and potential to be cultivated while working alongside and honouring Mother Earth. Our dedicated teachers mindfully craft their teachings, activities and projects to resonate with the current season.
Each stage of the lunar cycle is also considered when scheduling activities and projects to honour the children's energy levels and productivity. The optimal time for planting intentions and beginning projects is during the New Moon. High energy, action, creation and outward flow of energy is best during the Waxing Moon when during the Waning Moon, children should enjoy self-love practices, calming activities, reflection and going within. The Full Moon signifies completion and celebration of a project.
This encourages and nurtures a powerful alignment with the natural world as children begin tapping into their personal power to reach their full potential.
JANURAY-MARCH
Children go deeper within, exploring all the deeper aspects of the Self. Taking this time to honour the stillness of winter.
Winter Inspired Activities and Projects
Themes: rest, dreaming, reflection, compassion, patience and presence.
APRIL-JUNE
Children begin shifting their energy outward and planting seeds of intention. Tiny buds of growth and creation are sprouting.
Spring Inspired Activities and Projects
Themes: new beginnings, rebirth, transformation and balance.
The seeds begin manifesting within the child's life. It is time to honour and celebrate each child's unique journey.
Summer Camps
At the peak of Summer, we welcome all of our children back to celebrate the abundance, growth and development they experienced this year. It is a time of re-connection and potential. This marks a shift inward in preparation for the next year of creation.
SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER
Children are introduced to mindfulness and the importance of going within. Just like the beautiful changing leaves, nothing is permanent.
Autumn Inspired Activities and Projects
Themes: balance, gratitude, change, letting go, re-connection and accepting of what is so.
This New Earth calls for a new way of life, beyond fear, illusion, control and beyond searching for answers and wisdom outside of ourselves. It calls for a new structure of education to guide the powerful children of this New Earth. It is obvious that as we shift through this collective awakening, previous systems and institutions no longer serve who we are becoming.
Each child comes to Earth with individual gifts. Each child has a unique and powerful human design. Our goal is to empower children, as well as their families, to reach their full potential, align with their truth, discover their passions, and connect with their inner wisdom. This conscious learning experience inspires children to learn and grow beyond the scope of mainstream education.
The foundation of this alternative education program stems from this ancient symbol of balance (as shown above). Within the center, the child exists. As the child approaches any given learning experience, all aspects of the self are taken into account.
In addition, each child has a unique human design including energy type which holds many opportunities in discovering innate gifts and traits, so the child can grow, learn and be truly who they came here to be.
These tools allows children to achieve a deeper learning experience, discover their individual learning styles, explore their strengths, embrace challenges, cultivate their personal power and reach their full potential in all areas of their lives.
Our goal is to assist children and their families in discovering their unique human design as well as begin introducing mindfulness and self-regulation practices so children can expand their awareness and confidently interact with the world around them.
Everyday experiences can pull children off center.
How do they react?
Are they overly emotional?
Are they connected with their body?
Are they running wild with their thoughts?
Where children exist on this wheel is always changing and they are usually living in one direction more so than the others. As children learn how to work with this tool and embrace their human design, balance can be restored by acknowledging and bringing in the other aspects of the self.
We acknowledge the importance of the intellect and core curriculum teachings required in our world. The intellect however is only one aspect of the self. For a child's full potential to be explored, a balanced perspective of physical, emotional, spiritual and mental learning fueled by individual interests and passions must be taken into account.
The unique and powerful human design of each child is recognized and considered throughout the daily flow of learning, interaction and activities.
We also work alongside the families to provide the same secure and sacred environment to enhance the child's experiences outside of school.
Children are the leaders of their own learning experience as our dedicated teachers facilitate this magical process. We provide an environment where children are encouraged to explore their natural curiosity. This expands their awareness and develops a passion for life-long learning. Children are motivated to take personal responsibility, discover their unique gifts, explore their strengths and gain the confidence to reach their full potential.
To be free and to play is each child's birthright.
No permission is required to be who you are, express your truth and live the creative life that you choose.
Creativity comes into all aspects of learning and is a part of their everyday experience. Our teachers empower children to explore and channel their individual creativity.
Nature, the Higher Self and intuition are our greatest teachers. Children learn how to trust and tune into their inner voice, while honouring and proudly co-existing alongside all beings. They will learn how to flow with the Earthly cycles, understanding that there is a time for action and outward flow of energy, and also a necessary time of reflection, simply being and going within to grow beyond the limits.
A New Earth School is a Eco-friendly and chemical-free space guiding children to become New Earth Stewards. Your children are creating this New Earth and they will develop environmental and forward thinking practices to heal and protect Mother Earth. These Eco-friendly practices will be shared with other education systems to inspire a collective conscious environmental shift.
Our emphasis is on observing individual growth and direction rather than using standardized assessment tools. Each child has a detailed folder documenting their creations, progress and growth throughout each season.
Before the New Moon and after each creation, a one on one discussion takes place with the child. Feedback is provided as we discuss where the children see themselves on the wheel, how to achieve balance, what they have learnt, and where they want to go from here. Intention setting empowers children with confidence, determination and direction for the next task.
Our teachers use this information to plan the next activities in response to the children's interests.
